What is eur1?

EUR1 is a certificate of origin that allows importers to get reduced or zero tariffs under trade agreements between the European Union (EU) and other countries. It applies to goods that are being exported from the EU to a country that has a trade agreement with the EU. The certificate needs to be signed by a competent authority from the EU member state where the goods were produced and can be requested by the exporter or importer. EUR1 certificates may also be required to prove that imported goods comply with the rules of origin, which can help avoid paying customs duties twice.
