What is feoh2?

FeOH2, also known as iron(II) hydroxide or ferrous hydroxide, is a chemical compound made up of one iron atom and two hydroxide ions. It has a white to pale green color and is insoluble in water.

FeOH2 can be formed through the reaction between iron salts and hydroxide ions, or by precipitating iron(II) ions with a strong base. It is commonly used in water treatment processes to remove impurities and contaminants, as well as in the production of pigments and fertilizers.

FeOH2 has some toxicity and can cause irritation and corrosion if ingested or in contact with the skin. It can also decompose into iron oxide and water when exposed to air, leading to a loss in its effectiveness.
