What is ferroboron?

Ferroboron is an alloy composed of iron and boron, with a boron content of 17-20%. It is highly resistant to wear and corrosion, making it useful in applications where durability and strength are important. It is commonly used in the production of magnetic materials, such as neodymium magnets, and as a component in steel alloys. Ferroboron is also used in the manufacturing of electrical contacts and in the creation of high-strength ceramic materials. It is typically produced through the reduction of boron oxide and iron oxide in an electric arc furnace.
