What is garithos?

Garithos is a character from the Warcraft universe, specifically from Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, The Frozen Throne. He was a human leader and commander of Lordaeron, who played a significant role in the game's campaign. Garithos was known for his xenophobic and arrogant personality, often discriminating against non-human races, including elves and dwarves.

In the game's story, Garithos initially commanded the remaining human forces against the invading Undead Scourge. However, he later betrayed and imprisoned the player character, Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider, when Kael'thas brought his army of Blood Elves to assist in the fight against the Scourge. Garithos viewed the Elves as inferior and considered working with them to be a betrayal of humanity.

Later in the game, Garithos was killed by the dreadlord Balnazzar and raised as a mindless undead puppet, an ironic end for a character who so fiercely fought against the undead. Garithos' legacy in the Warcraft universe is as a cautionary tale against prejudice and bigotry.
