Gediminas was a ruler of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 14th century. He is credited with consolidating and expanding the territory of Lithuania, including the incorporation of the city of Kiev.
Gediminas is also known for his diplomatic skill and his efforts to establish good relations with neighboring countries, especially Poland and the Teutonic Knights.
