What is gyroskope?

A gyroscope is a device used for measuring or maintaining orientation and angular velocity. It consists of a spinning wheel or disk, called a rotor, that is mounted on a set of gimbals or pivots, which allows the rotor to rotate freely in all directions. When the gyroscope is subjected to angular acceleration or rotational movement, the rotor will resist any change in its orientation or axis of rotation, due to the principle of conservation of angular momentum. Gyroscopes are commonly used in navigation systems, such as aircraft and spacecraft, as well as in stabilizing and balancing devices, such as gyroscopes used in smartphones and drones. They can also be used in some mechanical and engineering applications to measure or detect motion and orientation.
