What is halyx?

Halyx was a short-lived musical and performance group formed in 1981 as part of Disneyland's Tomorrowland stage show of the same name. The group's music was a blend of rock, synth-pop, and new wave, and they performed in elaborate costumes and makeup reminiscent of science fiction and fantasy characters.

The members of Halyx were mostly young musicians and actors, with some having experience in bands or theater productions. The group's lead vocalist was a singer named Kymberly, and other members included guitarists Bruce and Davy, keyboardist Peter, drummer and percussionist Freddie, bassist Stacy, and saxophonist William.

Halyx's performances at Disneyland were well-received by audiences, but the group disbanded after their run at the park ended in late 1981. Despite their short-lived existence, Halyx has since gained a cult following among fans of Disney, retro-futurism, and 80s music. Their music and performances have been rediscovered and celebrated by fans online, with some considering them to be ahead of their time in terms of their creative vision and aesthetic.
