What is hepad?

Hepad is a medical device used for the detection of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in human blood samples. The test is based on the principle of immunochromatography, where a strip containing antibodies specific to HBV surface antigen (HBsAg) is used to detect the presence of the antigen in the blood sample. Hepad is a fast and reliable test that can provide results in as little as 15 minutes. It is widely used in diagnostic laboratories, hospitals, and public health clinics to screen for HBV infection, especially in high-risk populations such as pregnant women, healthcare workers, and people with a history of intravenous drug use. The test is simple, easy to use, and does not require any special equipment or training. However, it is important to note that a negative result on the Hepad test does not necessarily rule out the presence of HBV infection, and further diagnostic tests may be needed to confirm the diagnosis.
