What is hogioku?

Hogoku is a term used in Japanese mythology and religion that refers to a powerful magical artifact known as the “Jeweled Spear of Heaven.” This enchanted object is said to be bestowed upon the Emperor of Japan by the kami, or spirits, as a symbol of their divine authority.
