What is hoglin?

Hoglins are aggressive, pig-like mobs in the game Minecraft. They were introduced in the Nether Update released in 2020. They are found exclusively in the Nether dimension and are often considered one of the most challenging mobs to face due to their size, strength, and hostile behavior.

Hoglins are large, intimidating creatures that resemble a blend between a boar and a pig. They come in various sizes and shades of brown and can be easily identified by their large tusks and piercing red eyes. Hoglins are territorial, and if approached or provoked, they will initiate an attack. They deal significant melee damage and are immune to fire and lava.

Hoglins are a source of food and leather in the game. When killed, they drop raw pork, raw porkchops, and leather. Their meat can be cooked to restore hunger and health points, while their leather can be used to create various items like boots, armor, or saddles.

In Minecraft lore, Hoglins are considered the natural food source for the more fearsome mob, the Piglin. They are also known to avoid fungus-based blocks, which can be used as a means of deterring them or directing their movement.
