What is humanness?

Humanness refers to the unique characteristics, qualities, and attributes that make humans distinct from other animals and living beings. These include traits such as language, reasoning ability, self-awareness, empathy, emotions, consciousness, creativity, and culture. The concept of humanness is often associated with concepts such as ethics, morality, and spirituality, which are also seen as uniquely human aspects of life. Despite the variations in human behavior and individual differences, the sense of being human and valuing human life is something that is believed to be universal among human societies and cultures.
