What is jdev?

JDeveloper (short for Java Developer) is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) developed by Oracle Corporation. It is used to develop Java-based applications and is compatible with various types of databases, web services, and other technologies.

JDeveloper comes with a set of features that aid Java development, such as code analysis, debugging tools, and code refactoring. It also includes a built-in browser, web service tester, and profiler.

In addition to Java, JDeveloper supports development on various languages and platforms such as Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), PL/SQL, XML, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. It provides a complete end-to-end development platform for building enterprise-level applications.

JDeveloper is available for free download from Oracle's website, and it can run on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems. It is widely used in many enterprises, government agencies, and academic institutions to develop and deploy applications.
