What is klamelisaurus?

Klamelisaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period around 85 million years ago. It belonged to the group Titanosauria, which were large, long-necked herbivores. The exact size of Klamelisaurus is uncertain as only a few fragmentary bones have been found in the Río Neuquén Formation of Patagonia, Argentina. The name "Klamelisaurus" means "Chlamys lizard" in reference to the cloak-like morphology of the scapula bone. It was first described in 2016 by scientists from the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia and the Museo de La Plata.
