What is kv40?

KV40 is the designation given to a tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. The tomb was discovered in 2014 by an American archaeological team. It is believed to have belonged to a high-ranking official named Amenemhat, who served during the reign of Pharaoh Hatshepsut. The tomb is relatively small and contains a single burial chamber that was found to be mostly empty, except for some pottery fragments and a small amount of jewellery. The tomb is notable for its colourful decoration and its use of elaborate architectural techniques, including a complicated system of ramps and staircases. It is currently undergoing restoration and is not open to the public.
