What is lbws?

LBWs refer to "Leg Before Wicket" and is a cricketing term used when a batted ball hits the player's leg or any part of the body rather than the cricket bat, and if it is determined, with the help of the umpire's judgment, that the ball would have gone on to hit the wicket if the player's leg hadn't come in the way. If such a situation arises, the umpire gives an LBW, and the batter is declared out. LBWs are one of the most contentious decisions in cricket, with players, fans, and commentators often debating the accuracy of the umpire's judgment. There are specific criteria for determining an LBW, including the position of the ball, the line of the stumps, and the position of the batter's legs. In modern times, the Decision Review System or DRS has been introduced to aid umpires in making accurate LBW decisions.
