What is lepisorus?

Lepisorus is a genus of ferns in the family Polypodiaceae. It contains over 100 species of terrestrial or epiphytic ferns found mainly in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The fronds are usually small and have a triangular or heart-shaped outline, and the leaves are finely divided. Some species have a creeping habit and others grow in clumps. The fronds of Lepisorus are often used in floral arrangements because of their delicate and attractive foliage. They are also sometimes grown as ornamental plants in gardens or as houseplants. Some species, such as Lepisorus nudus, are used in traditional medicine for their anti-inflammatory properties.
