What is mangostas?

Mangostas, also known as the purple mangosteen, is a tropical fruit that is native to Southeast Asia. It is known for its purple outer skin and soft white pulp inside that is sweet and tangy in flavor. Mangostas are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, including vitamin C and xanthones, which are believed to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. The fruit is typically eaten fresh or used in juices, smoothies, and desserts. Mangostas are harvested from late June to September and are often sold in markets or exported to other countries. However, due to their delicate nature, mangostas have a short shelf life and must be consumed within a few days of ripening.
