Michurinsk is a city in the Tambov Oblast region of Russia. It was originally founded as the village of Kozlovka in the 17th century and became a town in 1779. In 1933, the town was renamed Michurinsk in honor of Russian biologist Ivan Vladimirovich Michurin.
