What is micronationalism?

Micronationalism is a political and social movement that promotes the establishment of small, self-declared states called micronations. These micronations are generally not recognized by other countries or international organizations, and often exist as a form of political satire or hobby. Micronationalism may include elements of secessionism, anarchism, or libertarianism, and may involve the creation of a constitution, government, and national symbols. Micronations may also engage in diplomatic relations with other micronations, and some may even declare war on each other. While micronationalism is largely a symbolic and recreational pursuit, it can also be a forum for experimentation with alternative forms of government and social organization.
