What is misbahah?

Misbahah is a traditional tool used for Islamic prayer and meditation, similar to a rosary in the Christian tradition. It is also known as tesbih, tasbih, or prayer beads. Misbahah typically consists of a string of 33, 66, or 99 beads that are used to count the repetition of a particular phrase or prayer. The most commonly repeated phrase on the misbahah is "Subhan Allah," meaning "Glory be to God." The use of misbahah is widely popular among Muslims and is believed to help in focusing during prayer and attaining spiritual purity. It is also used as a tool for relaxation and stress relief. Misbahah can be made from a variety of materials, such as beads, stones, and wood, and is often carried by Muslims wherever they go.
