What is nanopet?

Nanopet is a digital pet simulation game developed by Bandai in 1997. The game was designed for a handheld electronic device, similar to Tamagotchi, which allowed players to take care of virtual pets. The device had a monochrome LCD screen and few buttons, which made it easy to operate. The game required players to feed, play with and take care of their nanopet, as well as monitor their health and hygiene, just like real pets. The device came in various designs and colors and was popular in the late 1990s. Today, nanopet games can be downloaded and played on smartphones or other portable devices.
