What is optout?

Opt-out refers to the process of choosing to not receive certain forms of communication or marketing. This can include opting out of email newsletters, mobile notifications, and phone calls. Opt-out options are usually presented to recipients in the form of a link or button that says "unsubscribe" or "opt-out." Once a user opts out, they should no longer receive communication from that particular source or service, unless they opt-in or give permission again.

Opting out is a legal right granted to consumers and is usually required by various privacy laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These laws require businesses to provide clear opt-out options so that consumers have control over their personal data and how it is used.

It's important to note that opting out of certain forms of communication may not necessarily mean a complete cessation of all contact from a company, as some types of communication, such as transactional emails or legal notices, may still be necessary.
