What is orang-outang?

The orangutan is one of the three species of great apes and is found only in the forests of Southeast Asia, particularly in Borneo and Sumatra. They are primarily tree-dwelling and have adapted to a semi-solitary lifestyle, with males sometimes forming temporary associations with other males and females usually living alone or with one offspring. Orangutans are the largest arboreal (tree-dwelling) animals in the world. They have a distinctive reddish-brown hair that makes them easily recognizable. Orangutans are highly intelligent, with an ability to communicate and learn complex tasks. They are mostly herbivorous, enjoying a diet of fruits, leaves, and bark, but will occasionally eat insects and even small animals. Unfortunately, they are endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. Conservation efforts are crucial to their survival.
