What is pedia?

Pedia is a prefix derived from the Greek word "paidos" which means child. The term is commonly used in medicine and healthcare to refer to the medical care provided for children, including infants, toddlers, adolescents, and teenagers. The field of medicine that specifically deals with the health, well-being, and diseases of children is known as pediatrics. Pediatricians are the medical professionals who specialize in diagnosing, treating, and preventing medical conditions and illnesses that affect children. Pediatric care includes routine medical check-ups, immunizations, monitoring growth and development, treating injuries and illnesses, and providing health education and counseling to parents and caregivers. Effective pediatric care requires specialized training and experience in working with children and their families, who often require unique care and support.
