What is pi3?

The Raspberry Pi 3 (often abbreviated as Pi3) is a credit card-sized single-board computer developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. It was launched in February 2016, succeeding the Raspberry Pi 2 model B.

Some of the notable features of the Pi3 include a quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of LPDDR2 memory, built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and four USB ports. It also has an HDMI port for connecting to a display, a 3.5mm audio interface, a microSD card slot for storage, and a 40-pin GPIO header for attaching peripherals.

The Pi3 can run a variety of operating systems, including Raspbian (a Debian-based distribution customized for the Raspberry Pi), Ubuntu MATE, and even Windows 10 IoT Core. It is commonly used for education and DIY projects, including home automation, media centers, and robotics. Its low cost and versatility make it ideal for hobbyists and enthusiasts.
