What is planty?

Planty is a park in Kraków, Poland that surrounds the entire historic Old Town. It was created in the early 19th century on the site of the city's medieval walls and moat. The park is 4 kilometers long and covers an area of 21.5 hectares. It is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, who come to relax, walk, jog, or cycle in the shade of its trees. The park contains over 100 different species of trees and shrubs, many of them rare and protected. It also features several monuments and fountains, including the Adam Mickiewicz Monument, the Władysław Łokietek Monument, and the Kościuszko Mound. The park is open 24 hours a day, year-round, and admission is free.
