What is rb-25?

RB25 is a series of inline six-cylinder engines produced by Nissan for use in their vehicles. The RB25 was first introduced in 1991 as part of the RB family of engines, which also included the RB20 and RB26. The RB25 comes in two variants, the RB25DET and RB25DE.

The RB25DET engine is a turbocharged engine that produces between 247 and 280 horsepower, depending on the model year, trim level, and country of origin. It has a displacement of 2.5 liters and features a DOHC (dual overhead camshaft) design with 24 valves. The RB25DET is commonly used in Nissan's Skyline GT-R, as well as the mid-sized Cedric/Gloria and Laurel sedans.

The RB25DE engine is a non-turbocharged engine that produces approximately 189 horsepower. It has a displacement of 2.5 liters and also features a DOHC design with 24 valves. The RB25DE is commonly used in Nissan's Skyline sedan and coupe models.

Both the RB25DET and RB25DE engines have been popular among car enthusiasts due to their high output potential and tunability. The RB25DET has been used in various drift, drag racing, and time attack competitions, and has been known to handle high levels of boost and horsepower with proper modifications and tuning.
