Roberto Ayala is a former Argentine professional soccer player, born on April 14, 1973, in Paraná, Entre Ríos, Argentina. He played as a center-back and was known for his outstanding defensive skills and leadership qualities. Ayala began his professional career with Ferro Carril Oeste in 1991 and then went on to play for several top teams, including Argentina’s River Plate, Italy’s Napoli, and Spain’s Valencia.
During his career, Ayala won numerous domestic and international titles, including two UEFA Cup titles with Valencia, and he was also an important member of the Argentine national team. He represented Argentina in three World Cup tournaments, including 1998, 2002, and 2006, and also played in three Copa America tournaments.
After retiring from professional soccer in 2011, Ayala has become involved in various soccer-related business ventures and has worked as a pundit for television and radio broadcasts. He is also known for his charitable work with the Ayuda a la Educación Foundation, which helps to provide education and other services to underprivileged children in Argentina.
