What is rogatica?

Rogatica is a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in the eastern part of the country, in the Republika Srpska entity. The town has a population of around 4,000 people. Rogatica has a rich cultural heritage and history, dating back to Roman times, with many historical landmarks and monuments, including the Church of St. George, the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, and the Roman bridge over the Drina river. The town is also known for its traditional crafts, such as pottery, embroidery, and wood carving. The surrounding area is ideal for outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, and fishing, with the nearby Jahorina mountain range, which hosted the alpine events of the 1984 Winter Olympics, offering some of the best skiing in the region.
