What is rotaryfile?

Rotary files are dental instruments used in root canal treatment procedures to remove infected or damaged pulp inside a tooth. Also known as endodontic files, rotary files are small, flexible, and made of stainless steel or nickel-titanium alloy. They have a conical shape with multiple flutes or spirals running along the length of the file. The rotary files are attached to a dental handpiece and rotated at high speed to grind away the pulp tissue, shape and smooth the root canal walls, and remove any debris or bacteria. Different types of rotary files are available, including Hedstrom files, K-files, Reamers, and Gates Glidden burs, each with its unique design and function. The use of rotary files has improved the effectiveness and efficiency of root canal procedures, allowing for faster and more precise cleaning of the tooth canal and better long-term outcomes for the patient.
