What is saduceos?

The Saducees were a sect of Judaism that existed during the Second Temple period in Judea. They were a wealthy and powerful group of priests and aristocrats who were in charge of the Temple and its rituals. Unlike the Pharisees, who believed in the importance of interpreting the Torah and the oral tradition, the Saducees adhered strictly to the written law. They rejected the idea of resurrection, angels, and the afterlife. They did not believe in predestination and held that people had free will and were responsible for their actions. The Sadducees disappeared as a distinct group after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE.
