What is satyre?

Satyrs are creatures from Greek mythology that have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a horse or goat. They are often depicted as mischievous and lustful, chasing after nymphs and playing pranks on humans. They are known for their love of wine and music and are often portrayed holding a set of panpipes.
