What is selfish?

Selfishness is a personality trait characterized by a focus on one's own advantage or well-being, often at the expense of others. Selfish individuals prioritize their own needs, desires, and interests over those of others. They tend to think about themselves before considering the impact of their behavior on others. Selfishness can manifest in various ways, such as hoarding resources, prioritizing personal goals over relationships, or seeking recognition and praise for personal accomplishments. While a certain degree of self-interest is normal, excessive or pathological selfishness can lead to negative consequences for the individual and those around them.
