What is senjutsu?

Senjutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art, which translates to "tactics and methods of war." It focuses on mastering the use of the body and mind to become proficient in armed and unarmed combat. Senjutsu was developed in feudal Japan during the period of constant warfare and was used by the samurai warriors to fight, defend themselves, and their lords.

The art incorporates various skills, including weapons training, grappling, throwing, and striking techniques aimed at vital points, and pressure points. Senjutsu also emphasizes the importance of strategy, patience, and discipline, leading up to a more profound understanding of balance and harmony with nature and life.

Today, Senjutsu is practiced by martial arts enthusiasts worldwide, with its principles being applied in various other martial arts disciplines. It is often considered as one of the foundations of the Samurai's martial arts legacy and still continues as a discipline to help one better communicate with their mind and body and develop an inner strength and tranquility.
