What is senmut?

Senmut was an ancient Egyptian architect, engineer, and government official who lived during the 18th dynasty of Egypt. He served as the chief architect and overseer of all royal buildings, including several temples and mortuary complexes during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut. He is most famous for designing and supervising the construction of Hatshepsut's tomb, Deir el-Bahri, which is considered one of the most impressive architectural achievements of ancient Egypt. Senmut was also believed to have been a close advisor and confidant of Queen Hatshepsut, with some speculating that he may have even been her lover. Despite his impressive professional achievements, very little is known about Senmut's personal life or origins, with most of his story remaining shrouded in mystery.
