What is sophmore?

Sophomore refers to the second year of study in high school or college, typically when students are 15-16 years old in high school or 19-20 years old in college. During sophomore year, students continue to study a range of subjects but may start focusing on more specific subjects related to their major if they are in college. This is also the year when students may start to take on leadership roles in extracurricular activities or participate in internships and other experiential learning opportunities. Additionally, sophomore year is an important time for students to start thinking about their post-secondary plans and careers.
