What is sophomoric?

Sophomoric is a term used to describe behavior or actions that are immature, juvenile, or characteristic of a sophomore (second-year) student in high school or college. It refers to someone who is overly confident but lacks experience. The term is often used to criticize people who are acting in a foolish or childish manner, particularly adults who should know better. Sophomoric behavior can manifest itself in many ways, including engaging in prankish behavior, making inappropriate remarks or jokes, showing off or trying to impress others, and generally behaving in a manner that is more appropriate for a younger person.
