The stag-moose, also known as the Irish Elk, was a species of deer that lived during the Pleistocene epoch, about 10,000 years ago. It was one of the largest deer species ever known, with males reaching up to 7 feet tall at the shoulder, and having antlers that could span up to 12 feet.
Stag-moose had a massive body, which was comparable in size to a modern-day horse. They were herbivores and lived in forests, feeding on leaves, twigs, and bark.
Unfortunately, the stag-moose went extinct around 7,700 years ago, believed to be the result of overhunting by humans and changes in their habitat due to climate change. However, their remains have been found all over Europe and parts of Asia, giving us a glimpse into their impressive existence.
