What is stoici?

Stoicism was a school of philosophy founded in Athens by Zeno of Citium in early 3rd century BC. The philosophy advocates the pursuit of reason, ethics, and the development of self-control as a means of overcoming destructive emotions and achieving inner peace. The Stoics believed in living in harmony with nature and accepting the inevitable challenges that life presents. They held that virtue and knowledge were the most important things in life and that fame, wealth, and even external circumstances were ultimately unimportant. Famous Stoics include Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius. Stoicism remains widely studied and admired for its practical advice for living a fulfilling life.
