What is stoick?

Stoick the Vast is a fictional character in the "How to Train Your Dragon" book series and films. He is the chief of the Viking village of Berk and the father of the protagonist, Hiccup. Stoick is depicted as a stern, no-nonsense leader who values tradition and strength, and he initially struggles to understand and accept Hiccup's unconventional ways. Over the course of the story, Stoick comes to appreciate and respect Hiccup's intelligence and bravery, and their relationship deepens. Stoick's character arc reaches a poignant conclusion in "How to Train Your Dragon 2," in which he sacrifices himself to protect Berk from a dangerous foe.
