What is tendes?

Tendons are tough, flexible cords of connective tissue that attach muscles to bones. They are responsible for transmitting the force created by muscle contractions to the bones, allowing movement to occur. Tendons are found all over the body, from the large Achilles tendon in the heel to the tiny tendons that control the movement of the fingers. They are made up of collagen fibers and are very strong, able to withstand high levels of tension. Tendons can be damaged by overuse, trauma, or underlying medical conditions such as arthritis or diabetes. Treatment for tendon injuries can range from rest and physical therapy to surgery in severe cases. Proper care and maintenance of tendons through regular exercise and good nutrition can help prevent injury and keep them healthy and strong.
