What is teoma?

Teoma is a search engine that was founded in 2000 and later acquired by Ask Jeeves, which is now known as Ask.com. Unlike other search engines of its time, Teoma used a unique algorithm called "Subject-Specific Popularity" to organize search results. This algorithm focused on the relationships between websites and assigned higher rankings to sites that had related content and links to other reputable sites. Teoma also provided "refine" options to help users narrow down their search results. In 2005, Ask Jeeves integrated Teoma's technology into the Ask.com search platform, and Teoma ceased to operate as a separate search engine.
