What is testamenti?

Testamenti (singular: testamentum) is a Latin term that refers to a legal instrument that sets forth a person's wishes regarding the distribution of their property after their death. Commonly known as a will, a testamentum is a legally binding document that must be executed in compliance with formalities prescribed by law, such as witnessing and signing by the testator and witnesses. The document may also designate an executor or personal representative to administer the estate and execute the distribution of assets according to the wishes of the deceased. Testamentary provisions may also be used to appoint guardians for minor children or to make arrangements for the care of pets. The term "testament" is often used interchangeably with "will" in modern legal terminology.
