What is usagi?

Usagi is the Japanese word for "rabbit" and is a popular symbol in Japanese culture. In Japanese folklore, rabbits are often associated with the moon and are believed to be messengers of the moon goddess. The most famous representation of the usagi is in the story of the "Rabbit in the Moon," in which a rabbit is said to live on the moon and pound rice cakes using a mortar and pestle.

Usagi is also a popular character in Japanese pop culture, appearing in anime, manga, and video games. One of the most well-known examples is Usagi Tsukino, also known as Sailor Moon, the protagonist of the popular magical girl anime and manga series.

In addition to being a symbol of good fortune and fertility in Japan, rabbits are also often depicted as cute and cuddly creatures in popular culture. The image of a rabbit is frequently used in advertising, as well as in design and fashion.
