What is vfa-25?

VFA-25 (Strike Fighter Squadron 25) is a United States Navy strike fighter squadron that was established on 1 May 1955. The squadron is also known as the "Fist of the Fleet" and is currently based at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California.

The squadron was originally designated as VF-25 and flew the FJ-3 Fury during the 1950s. In the 1960s, it transitioned to the F-8 Crusader and later to the F-4 Phantom II. The squadron's most recent aircraft was the F/A-18E Super Hornet, which it began flying in 2005.

VFA-25 has a long and distinguished history, having participated in numerous conflicts and operations. During the Vietnam War, the squadron flew various missions including Close Air Support, Strike Warfare, and Air Interdiction.
