What is xdrive?

Xdrive is a cloud-based file storage and sharing service that allows users to store, share, and access their files from anywhere, anytime. It was launched in the early 2000s and initially offered free online storage space up to 5GB.

Xdrive was acquired by AOL in 2005 and the service was expanded to allow users to backup their entire computer to the cloud. In 2007, AOL decided to discontinue the service due to financial reasons and users were given a short period of time to download their files before the service was shut down.

Although Xdrive is no longer available, the concept of cloud-based storage and file sharing has become more popular, and there are now many similar services available such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and iCloud.
