Luis Roberto Alves dos Santos, commonly known as Zague, is a former Mexican professional footballer who played as a striker. He was born on May 23, 1968, in Mexico City, Mexico. Zague is considered one of the greatest strikers in Mexican football history, having scored over 300 goals in his career.
He began his career playing for Club America in Mexico before moving to Europe to play for Spanish clubs such as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and UD Salamanca. Zague also had a successful international career, representing Mexico in multiple Copa America and World Cup tournaments.
After retiring from professional football, Zague became a sports commentator and analyst in Mexico. He is also the son of Brazilian football legend Jose Alves Zague, who also played professionally in Mexico.
