What is zhigansk?

Zhigansk is a small town located in the Sakha Republic of Russia, also known as Yakutia. It is situated on the left bank of the Lena River, approximately 350 kilometers northeast of Yakutsk, the republic's capital. Zhigansk is one of the oldest settlements in Yakutia, with a history dating back to the 17th century.
