What is cervals?

Cervals, also known as the Eurasian lynx or the Iberian lynx, are medium-sized wild cats that are found primarily in Europe and Asia. They are solitary animals that prefer to live in remote, forested areas, typically at higher elevations.

Cervals are known for their distinctive tufted ears, which give them a regal appearance. They typically have a reddish-brown coat with black spots or stripes and a short, stubby tail. They are agile and powerful predators, capable of taking down a wide range of prey, from rodents to deer.

Despite their size and strength, cervals are threatened by habitat loss, fragmentation, and hunting. In some regions, they have been extirpated entirely. However, there have been successful conservation efforts to protect and reintroduce cerval populations. The Iberian lynx, for example, was once on the brink of extinction, but conservation efforts have helped bring the population back from the brink.
