What is chocodiles?

Chocodiles are a type of snack cake manufactured by Hostess Brands. They consist of a chocolate-coated sponge cake with a creamy filling. The cake is shaped like a crocodile, hence the name "Chocodiles." They were first introduced in the 1960s and gained popularity on the West Coast of the United States, particularly in California. However, they were discontinued in 1999 due to low sales. They were briefly brought back in 2014 as a limited edition product, and then again in 2020. Chocodiles have a cult following among Hostess fans and are often sought after by collectors.
